Privacy Policy
This notice explains what personal information Ekezi processes, why we process it and the choices and rights available to you.
1. Who is responsible for your data?
Ekezi is operated by Hatim Habchaoui. You can contact us about privacy or exercise your data-protection rights at habchaouihatim90@gmail.com.

2. What information we process and why
When you create an account, we process your name, email address, authentication details and account/session identifiers to provide sign-in, account security and the Ekezi service. Google sign-in may also provide account information such as your name, email address and profile image.
When you use Ekezi, we process the prompts and messages you submit, recipe results, ingredients, cooking preferences, favorites, generated-image references and related chat history. If you use kitchen profiles or shared kitchens, we also process the kitchen details and member names you enter. These details are used to provide the cooking, recipe, chat and kitchen features you request.
Kitchen profiles may include dietary preferences or allergy information that you choose to enter. Please do not submit medical or other sensitive information that is not needed for your cooking request.
If you upload a food, pantry or receipt image for ingredient extraction, the image is sent to Google Gemini to identify the food items. If you request a generated recipe image, the recipe title, description and image prompt are sent to Fal.ai. Recipe and chat prompts may be sent to MiMo and, when used as a fallback, DeepSeek.
When the site owner enables automatic Pinterest publishing for a designated Ekezi account or kitchen, Ekezi sends only recipes generated by that account or kitchen owner to Pinterest. The recipe title, description and image are published on the configured Pinterest board. Pins are public on Pinterest. Avoid including personal or confidential information in recipe prompts.
Our hosting and security providers may process technical information such as IP address, request time, browser details and server logs to deliver, protect and troubleshoot the service. Authentication emails contain your address and the verification or password-reset information you requested. Privacy requests sent to our Gmail contact address are handled through Google mail services.
- Provide accounts and requested app features: necessary to provide the service you request (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- Protect and maintain the service, prevent abuse and troubleshoot failures: our legitimate interests in operating a secure service (Article 6(1)(f)).
3. AI and other service providers
To provide features you request, Ekezi sends relevant inputs to external providers: MiMo (Xiaomi) and DeepSeek for text generation; Fal.ai for generated recipe images; Google Gemini for ingredient extraction from uploaded images; Pinterest for automatic publication of recipe titles, descriptions and images when enabled; Google for sign-in and Gmail contact correspondence; Namecheap, whose email service processes data in the United States, for authentication email delivery; and Contabo for website hosting, the PostgreSQL database and backups in London, United Kingdom.
These providers process information under their own service terms and privacy documents. Depending on the provider and service configuration, information may be processed outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States or China. The United Kingdom currently benefits from an EU adequacy decision. For other international transfers, the applicable transfer safeguards depend on the provider agreement in use. Contact us if you need information about the safeguards applicable to a particular provider.
4. Public recipe links
Saved recipe chats currently receive a share URL. Anyone with a recipe’s URL can open its public recipe page, and recipe URLs are included in the Ekezi sitemap, so search engines may discover them. Do not include confidential or sensitive personal information in recipe prompts. Deleting a chat or account removes its active Ekezi recipe record; external search-engine caches may take time to update.
5. Cookies and browser storage
Ekezi uses authentication cookies to keep you signed in and a one-year guest-quota cookie to remember how many guest chats have been used. The browser may also store your theme choice, a random client identifier and kitchen-memory preferences in local storage so the app can remember them between visits. These browser-stored values can be removed through your browser’s site-data controls.
Google Analytics is not loaded by this website. Previously stored analytics cookies can be removed through your browser’s site-data controls.
6. How long we keep information
Account-linked information, chats, recipes and profiles are kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, Ekezi deletes the active account records, chats and profiles as part of the deletion process. A shared kitchen is retained for its remaining members; if you own it, ownership is transferred to the earliest remaining member. Provider-level server logs, backups and information already sent to an AI, email or other provider may remain under that provider’s retention rules. Guest-quota cookies expire after one year.
7. Your rights and complaints
Subject to the conditions in data-protection law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability; object to processing based on legitimate interests; and withdraw consent at any time for future processing. To make a request, email habchaouihatim90@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For private organisations in Bavaria, the supervisory authority is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA).
8. Changes to this notice
We may update this Privacy Policy when our processing or legal obligations change. The date below shows when this version was last updated.
